Scottsdale Unified asks the Attorney General for a legal opinion on their counseling program...and it backfires spectacularly
MTSS is in Nebraska. It introduces a huge bureaucracy to the school district so that non-licensed "counselors" can mess with kid's minds at taxpayer expense. Every. Kid. The AZ Attorney General is not keen on the plan. Schools that say they are hurting for money keep finding creative ways to spend it. This would be a good place to start cutting the budget. This might be a little long but read the details about the Tier pyramid in the middle:
"At the bottom of the pyramid is Tier 1, reflecting what they call a “universal intervention” program that applies behavioral health concepts and theories to all students, without regard to any specific behavioral health concerns or needs.
The objective is preventing bad behavior, depression, anxiety or other mental health concerns." -
Be careful what you ask for, as they say. This is why attorneys are told, don’t ask questions at trial you don’t already know the answer to.
