Dear Bill Ackman, This Pediatrician Shares Your Concern
Nebraska fought the CSE battle in 2021; here is what we learned.-Sue Greenwald M.D.
See the video for fifth graders HERE.
The reason the video appears bootlegged is because AMAZE.org took it off their site as soon as Mr. Ackman highlighted it. The Wayback Machine provided this copy.
This essay is an attempt to answer the question for you, Mr. Ackman. Who is funding it?
AMAZE comes from an organization called Advocates for Youth. (advocatesforyouth.org) The AMAZE videos are part of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) curriculum. From that website:
AMAZE is a project of Advocates for Youth and Youth Tech Health. The initiative is comprised of a series of more than 160 animated puberty and sex education videos and resources that have been viewed more than 55 million times in the U.S. alone. The video series targets young people ages 10 to 14, their parents, educators, and clinicians with honest and inclusive sex education.
It was 2021 when the combined efforts of Planned Parenthood, Women’s Fund of Omaha, and Nebraska State School Board member Deborah Neary, colluded to include the National Sex Education Standards (also known as Comprensive Sexuality Education or CSE) as required curriculum in Nebraska schools. As a Pediatrician with 35 years of experience treating sexually abused children, this author immediately recognized the grooming aspect of the curriculum.
Protect Nebraska Children Coalition (PNCC) was formed by a small group of concerned citizens in central Nebraska to educate and mobilize the public regarding the “health standards.” We learned a lot in a short time, which I would like to share with you, Mr. Ackman. PNCC obtained the emails between the key players, as well as staffers at the Nebraska Dept. of Education and the Nebraska Education Commissioner at that time (who has since resigned). Those emails can be found under resources-health standards-Foia at ProtectNebraskaChildren.org. Those emails were enlightening.
We learned that a woman named Lisa, employed by the Women’s Fund of Omaha (WFO), was the quarterback for the effort; supplying talking points to the board, as well as the activists who were appointed to a “health advisory group” that was formed to push the effort though. The main focus of the activists was transgenderism and social justice. Youth from the WFO-funded transgender clinics were recruited and transported to State School Board meetings to cry on cue during the public comment periods. The emails revealed they were coached to say they were suicidal. SIECUS was intimately involved in the effort after Planned Parenthood had previously suffered two failed attempts to pass CSE mandates through the Nebraska legislature. More on SIECUS later.
This is from our 2021 research (pre-substack).
From Lisa’s bio on the Women’s Fund of Omaha site, we learn that she has close ties with Planned Parenthood, having worked there for 15 years, and remaining on the “Friends of Planned Parenthood” board. Lisa states on her resume that she was instrumental not only in getting Omaha Public Schools to implement CSE in 2016, and then training the teachers and school nurses on how to implement CSE. One wonders how in-demand she might be if CSE is implemented state-wide. While she is certainly an expert in her field, she represents ONLY CSE compliant Sex Education (based on National Sexuality Education from Siecus.org). No other versions of Sex Ed were reviewed or considered. Lisa headed the “health advisory group” for the Standards, and other members of the group were hand-picked by Lisa. Deborah Neary made sure they were approved by the board.
Lisa is an employee of the Women’s Fund of Omaha. Per the financial information on the WFO web site, they receive the bulk of their funds (over 11 million dollars in 2019, nearly 5.5 million dollars in 2018) in the form of Berkshire Hathaway stock. A large portion of their expenditures go to support clinics in the Omaha area through their “Adolescent Health Project”, including the One World clinics and Planned Parenthood (nearly 1 million dollars to PP in 2018). These funds do help provide condoms and STD treatments to teens; however, the One World clinics also sell the transgender hormones (covered by Medicaid and insurance), and Planned Parenthood also sells abortions.
Abortions and Transgenderism are two of the things that CSE curriculum normalizes for minor students.
Please read this article from 2023 “What is CSE?” as it really does explain everything. A link to the very same puberty blocker video was included (the link is broken now.)
The Cliff’s Notes version of the funding is as follows:
SIECUS: Sex Ed for Social Change is a political organization whose primary goal is transformation of the culture using youth sexuality as a tool. It’s origins are Planned Parenthood and Hugh Hefner. (Yes, really.) Its overarching ideology is that sexual pleasure is a human right that starts at birth. The National Sex Education Standards are based upon the SIECUS philosophy. These standards are not from the US Government, they are not from a medical organization, they are from a political organization.
SIECUS also uses it’s lobbying efforts to oppose abstinence education and parental rights bills.
Advocates for Youth is the youth education and recruitment wing of the SIECUS movement. Their mission statement kind of says it all.
“Young people understand that reproductive and sexual health and rights are inextricably tied to social justice and the fight for liberation. Join thousands of youth activists and adult allies as we build a better and more equitable world.”
AMAZE.org is the video library of the free online curriculum available through Advocates for Youth. There is an AMAZE YouTube channel available to the public.
Advocates for Youth also has free online CSE curriculum called 3 R’s (Rights, Respect, Responsibility). It is also a recruiting center to train “student leaders” in Neo-Marxist social justice.
Regarding Advocates for Youth-from influencewatch.org:
AFY receives grants from the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the James H. Clark Charitable Foundation. The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation gave AFY a total of 8 grants to AFY from 2008 to 2016, totaling at $10,498,030. 3 In 2009, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation reported giving AFY $1,200,000. 3 The James H. Clark Foundation gave it $1,000,000 in 2009. 3
The daughter of Omaha-based billionaire Warren Buffett, Susie Buffett runs the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation (STBF) named for her mother. STBF appears to be a primary funder of Advocates for Youth. The Buffetts made their fortune with Warren’s management of Berkshire Hathaway. Women’s Fund of Omaha appears to be primarily a Buffett enterprise. The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation is also a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood.
According to data analyzed by the Capital Research Center in February 2020, between 2002 and 2018 STBF paid out $3.94 billion in grants to groups that support abortion and publicly provided contraception. Of that sum, STBF paid out $674.5 million to the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, International Planned Parenthood Federation, and various state-level affiliates of the abortion provider. 7
As of 2015, STBF was an institutional partner in the left-of-center donor convening Democracy Alliance. 9
About Democracy Alliance:
Billionaire financier George Soros and late Progressive Insurance chairman Peter Lewis are the most notable Democracy Alliance donors, but the list of Democracy Alliance partners includes many “of the biggest names in liberal politics.”4
So there you have it Mr. Ackman, this is who paid for the transgender recruitment video that you stumbled upon. You should know they are well organized and well funded. They were rolling through the States with this CSE curriculum until they hit Nebraska. We are proud to say they didn’t roll us.
As for the Protect Nebraska Children Coalition, we changed our coalition name to Nebraska Education Coalition, so it won’t be confused with the Protect Nebraska Children PAC which helped elect four State Board of Education members in 2022 and 2024. Our 8-member board is now evenly split.
SIECUS has a state-by-state profile of their lobbying efforts. Here is what they say about Nebraska. (They are lying about the development of the 2021 Nebraska Health Standards. The Nebraska Dept. of Education did not “team with educators.” The only educators involved with the CSE standards were Lisa the “Certified CSE Trainer”, and some Omaha college professors who taught classes on social justice and queer theory).
“At the statewide level, in September 2019, the Nebraska Department of Education revised their Nondiscrimination and Equitable Educational Opportunities in Schools Position Statement to be inclusive of a multitude of identities, including sexual orientation and gender identity, race, ethnicity, disability, and economic status. Then, in Summer 2020, the Nebraska Department of Education teamed up with educators to develop the first Nebraska Health Education Standards. Unfortunately, this process was indefinitely paused in September 2021 due to significant conservative attacks and pushback on the efforts despite a recent survey of Nebraska youth asserting just one in three LGBTQAI+ youth feel affirmed in their home. Additional youth data from Nebraska indicates young people desire more school-based sex education, with 40% currently reporting feeling unsafe in classrooms due to the way sex education is currently taught.”
The “40% feel unsafe in their classrooms” might be true in some schools, but it has nothing to do with sex ed. That is just laughable.

Bravo! Impressive research and reporting. This is the first time I've seen a detailed accounting of Buffett money at work in Nebraska. Nebraska families owe you a large debt.
Do you suppose Arabella coordinated donations from the other funders?
