CKLA-Marxist Indoctrination Via English Class-With Bonus Video

Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) is currently being taught in 52 school districts in Nebraska. It is being recommended by our Educational Service Units and promoted by a Bill Gates related rating app named EdReports. For background, read these:

The generally positive reviews of this curriculum are due to the fact that it utilizes a teaching method called “The Science of Reading,” which is basically the way we boomers learned to read. A recent Omaha World Herald series by Lauren Wagner describes recent teacher’s college graduates in Nebraska who never learned to sound out words.
Apparently, somewhere in the 80’s, teachers’ colleges decided that phonics was anti-social justice and pro-colonialism. According to this recent article by Alice Roberts, A Revolution in Literacy:
“It was more important to explore how identity, power, privilege and oppression lead to inequity. The last generation of students was taught to read using a “whole language” or “balanced literacy” approach, relying on sight words and picture cues to figure out the text. Some phonics lessons were included in the mix, but not in any systematic way. The current result is that an estimated 23% of the US adult population lacks literacy skills.”
CKLA is at least teaching the kids to read.
The negative reviews of CKLA focus on the fact that it uses excerpts rather than books, and that the content is often age-inappropriate and decidely woke. “Whole Language” may have been left behind, but with CKLA, the social justice indoctrination is definitely the point.
Enter the Southern Poverty Law Center. According to influencewatch.org:
“It has been criticized for its financial practices and for characterizing non-violent conventional conservative organizations as equivalent to violent extremists.”
A 2020 book “Making Hate Pay, The Corruption of the Southern Poverty Law Center” by Tyler O’Neil lays out the malfeasance:
“The SPLC singles out ‘hate’ on the far-right but not the far-left. It faced a very public sexual harassment and racial discrimination scandal. It has a history of raising far more money than it spends on programs and keeping millions in Cayman Island accounts,” wrote O’Neil.
“It has a malleable definition of hate that it applies to its political enemies. It has paid millions to settle a defamation lawsuit after acknowledging it falsely accused someone of being an extremist. Former staffers have admitted that the hate accusations leveled by the SPLC are a ‘con,’ a deceptive scheme to raise money.”
If your organization has anything to do with controlling illegal immigration, pro-life advocacy, or protecting children from sexualization and medicalization, or any other religious or conservative leaning cause, you are a hate group. Recent additions to the “hate map” include Moms for Liberty, the American Border Patrol and Libs of TikTok.
Yet the SPLC loves Antifa so much they employ lawyers who participate in the riots. Lovely people.
Exactly the people you would want teaching your 5th grader about values and morals.

“The following guide offers an overview of the many ways that the Amplify CKLA program supports students’ understanding of issues related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. The guide for each grade details how the domains (K-2) or units (3-5) align to outcomes identified in the Teaching Tolerance Social Justice Standards. This tool enables teachers to understand how students work toward these outcomes through the Amplify CKLA program. It also includes a DEI question for each domain or unit that teachers may use to further develop students’ understanding of how the content area connects to these issues.”
What are the “Teaching Tolerance Social Justice Standards?” They didn’t come from the Nebraska Dept. of Education, as standards are supposed to do. No, they came from your friends at the SPLC. “Learning for Justice” is one of the SPLC’s profit centers. Click HERE to see the standards.
The Marxist pedagogy, also known as critical theory, focuses on the collective and how you contribute to a socialist society. Rugged individualism is not appreciated. Everyone must be tribalized. Someone, preferably the other tribe, must be blamed. In summary, this is the goal of “social justice.”
Here are some Social Justice standards for 3rd through 5th grade.
If you took a drink every time you saw the words “group” and “identity,” would you be sober by the time you reached the bottom of this page?
Many parents believe that the education system is focusing on the wrong things. For a generation, “social justice” was more important than literacy, and it led to a disastrously illiterate underclass. Now, that issue is finally being addressed.
But now, “identity groups” are more important than individual merit.
Not offending anyone is more important than achievement.
Belonging is more important than producing.
Hating the people you are told to hate is virtue.
This is subtle Marxist indoctrination. This is English class. Bathe in this ideology for 8 hours a day and see what it does to you.
