Look at those 2 photos above. If you were watching a movie, which hero would you root for?
Yesterday, I was packing for my trip to Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention. I had a MAGA t-shirt to wear on the plane, then I thought it might make me a target in the Chicago or Milwaukee airports, so I packed a generic t-shirt instead. I drove from Kearney to Lincoln so I could catch an early morning flight. When I arrived at my sister’s house, I was greeted with “President Trump has been shot.” She showed me the video and all I could see were the thousands of bystanders, our country-men and women, in the line of fire.
Yesterday, some people in Pennsylvania had an event they were excited to attend. They put on some sunscreen and maybe a MAGA hat. They stood in the hot sun for hours. They chatted with people in line, exchanging stories about their families, their favorite foods, and people they knew in common. Maybe they exchanged phone numbers. Some of them never went home. They became casualties in a war they did not ask for. May they be laid to rest with the honors they deserve.
Yesterday, all over social media, the trending lines were “why did he miss? and “it was staged.” The news media got their marching orders not to say the “a” word and the headlines would have made the Soviets blush.
If you are one of those who thought, even for a second, “why did he miss,” I hope you will take this opportunity to reflect upon where you left your soul. If you are too brainwashed or Trump deranged to do that, I hope you rot in hell for eternity. YOU have become the monster you believe you are fighting.
It’s clear that none of you believe you will face consequences for your “hate speech,” while a young man named Douglass Mackey sits in prison for a meme mocking Hillary Clinton in 2016.
If you are the media, and you are prepared to start spouting off about a “lone gunman,” nobody is going to buy that for even a minute. You have spent the last 8 years teaching the public to demonize your fellow citizens. MAGA has become a curse word to your acolytes, and we, the tens of millions of us, are called haters, Nazis, the biggest security threat to America, the greatest threat to Democracy, totalitarians, dictators, etc. You have dehumanized us to the point where it is socially acceptable to beat or kill us; to the point where we have to hide our t-shirt while walking through an airport. Your idea of Democracy is to steal a national election, to install your dementia patient “President” behind soldiers and razor wire, to entrap tourists into becoming political prisoners, and then to brag about all of it while you prepare to do it again. You have taught our children that their country is so bad, it can only be fixed with censorship and socialism. You keep railing against “evil,” but you refuse to look in the mirror.
Yesterday, my first impulse was to turn on a news source that can be trusted- Real America’s Voice. Normally I would have been hearing the voice of Stephen K. Bannon, but he is in prison. Merrick Garland has committed the same “crime” as Bannon, but of course the Attorney General for the regime isn’t going to prosecute himself. In fact, no one has ever been jailed for that “crime” before, until Peter Navarro, another close Trump adviser, and now Bannon. Pundits have gleefully reported that this crucial election period was a great time to take Bannon “off the board.”
The Biden DOJ and the FBI have been turned into the Stasi against conservatives. Biden’s own DOJ appointed a special prosecutor for Biden. He reported that while our “President” indeed committed crimes, he is too senile to prosecute. Meanwhile, the FBI is visiting Nebraskans over facebook posts, targeting Catholics and parents, and prosecuting armed dawn raids against Trump, his advisors and lawyers, even praying grandmothers. Citizens who used to revere the FBI now know better. The DOJ, White House, and state AG offices colluded to bring ridiculous charges against Trump and anyone associated with his administration, to torture and bankrupt them with the process. The media cheered this on, while the Governor of New York was forced to assure other business owners in that state that no one besides Trump would be targeted.
In the real world, there is no perfect hero. President Trump is our imperfect hero because he wants to make government accountable to the people. He shows up every day. He proves every day that he loves his country more than his comfort, his money, his freedom or his life. He has a remarkable family who support him in these efforts, even knowing the astronomical odds that they will lose him to an assassins bullet.
When I wrote my first RNC update post, my concern was that President Trump might be in prison and we would be doing the nomination without him. He had a July 11 sentencing in Judge Merchan’s kangaroo court, until he didn’t.
The Biden administration and the press are trying to convince the public that a Trump administration would be totalitarian, but we know who the real totalitarians are.
I included Josh Slocum’s article because most, if not all, of the Republican delegates have family or friends who won’t speak to us because they have been convinced that we are stupid, evil, or brainwashed. They don’t see the persecution or censorship or de-banking, because it isn’t happening to them. Josh speaks with the authority of a reformed leftist when he says they might want us dead.
People are brainwashed, but it isn’t us. We aren’t the ones trying to imprison and kill our opponents. We aren’t the ones setting up censorship organizations. We aren’t the ones fighting every effort to secure elections. We aren’t the ones who threw open the borders with the admitted goal of importing ballots. We aren’t the ones burning cities, or handing them over to criminal cartels.
At the Republican National Convention, there will be parties and events scheduled the rest of this week, but no one is celebrating. This business is deadly serious. I think I can speak for the rest of the Nebraska delegation when I say that every one of us would walk through fire and army crawl across broken glass to nominate President Trump.
Yesterday, we might have been tempted to convince ourselves that what are doing here is politics. Today, we understand with the clarity of hunted prey, that we are at war.
They will never give up.
